God exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This is a hard thing for me to wrap my small mind around, but I like the analogy of a man with three roles. A single man can be the father to his children, the son of his father, and the husband to his wife. It's an analogy and just like every other analogy it breaks down if you take it very far, but it helps me understand the concept on some level. Scripture gives a great deal of evidence for the trinity. In John chapter 10 verse 30, Jesus says, "I and the Father are one." It doesn't get much clearer than that. This comes after John 8:58 when he said, "before Abraham was born, I AM." This was a clear claim to be God and we know that the Jews understood it because we're told in the next verse that they immediately picked up stones to throw at Him. The Bible also tells us about the Holy Spirit. 2nd Corinthians 3:17 says that, "the Lord is the Spirit." Later in 13:14 Paul closes the book with, "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." He names all three persons of the trinity here.
I believe:
1. God exists in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
2. The Bible is the inspired word of God
3. God is the Creator of all things
4. Mankind is sinful and deserving of death
5. Christ died so that we may have life
